Professor Jonathan Van Tam specialises in Health Protection at the University of Nottingham, and was seconded in 2017 as the UK Government’s Deputy Chief Medical Officer. During the Covid-19 pandemic, he has become known for his creative use of metaphors to explain complex science to the public.
