Sir Ranulph Fiennes
Polar explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Bt, OBE started his adventurous life in the Army with the Royal Scots Greys. In 1982 he became the first man to reach both the North and South Poles by surface travel and in 2009 he became the first OAP to scale Mount Everest. His books include Living Dangerously, Captain Scott and most recently Shackleton. Find out more about his life here.
