Curate, St Peter’s, Plymouth; St George’s Mission under Father Lowder; thence went to Claydon, Suffolk, to begin first monastery; thence to Norwich; thence to Laleham, Chertsey; then, 1870, founded Llanthony Abbey; ordained at Wells Cathedral, Dec. 1860. Bene Discessit of Trinity Theological College; ordained to the priesthood by Mar-Timotheos in Llanthony Abbey Church, 27 July 1898. His mission preaching attracted vast crowds of listeners; he refused to preach in the churches owing to the ‘rationalism’ permitted by the Bishops; he remained, however, in loyal, though lay, communion with the English Church
